This project focused on the creation of a typographic study and reference book, serving as a research publication that documented various exercises, iterations, and explorations of continuous text formatting. Throughout the process, I engaged in rigorous experimentation with different typographic elements, analyzing how factors such as typeface, size, style, spacing, and alignment impact readability and visual hierarchy. Each page of the study included a record of typographic details in the form of captions, noting key specifications such as typeface, type size, type style, and type format to ensure a clear and systematic approach to the research.

For the final outcome, I designed a comprehensive typographic study and reference book, allowing me to explore and refine my understanding of both macro-typography and micro-typography. Macro-typography involves the overall arrangement of text and layout, including grid systems, column structures, and alignment, which play a crucial role in guiding the reader's eye and ensuring a well-organized composition. Micro-typography, on the other hand, focuses on the finer details such as kerning, tracking, line spacing (leading), and individual character adjustments, all of which contribute to readability and aesthetic refinement.

As part of my exploration, I experimented with a range of typefaces, particularly Arial and Roboto, both of which are widely used for their clarity and versatility. Through this study, I gained valuable insights into how different typefaces influence tone and legibility, as well as how subtle typographic adjustments can significantly enhance or hinder the reading experience. This project deepened my appreciation for the meticulous craftsmanship behind typography and reinforced the importance of precision in typographic design.
